You can search for a
drawing using name, location, and date filters, properties such
as keywords that you added to the drawing, or text strings containing
a specific word or phrase.
- Use the Search tool in Microsoft® Windows® to
search for drawings using name, location, and date filters. You
can also specify a word or phrase contained in the drawing file.
You can search for all textual data except text in tables and fields,
and xrefs within drawing files. Supported drawing file types include
DWG, DWF, DWT, and DWS.
- Use the Search dialog box for DesignCenter™
to search for Microsoft Windows file properties, such as title or
keyword, that you added to drawings.
- Use the Select File dialog box for the
OPEN command to display drawing file previews. When the RASTERPREVIEW system variable
is on, a raster preview image is automatically generated and stored
with the drawing when you save it.
To search for files
- Click the Application button, and click
Open
Drawing.
- In the Select File dialog box, click Tools
Find
- In the Find dialog box, Name & Location
tab, specify a file type, file name, and path.
You can use wild cards when specifying a file
name.
- On the Date Modified tab, click All Files,
or click Find All Files Created or Modified to specify a date filter.
You can search for drawings modified between
a specified range of dates or within a specified number of months
or days.
- Click Find Now.
- Select one or more files from the search
results. Click OK.
- In the Select File dialog box, click
Open.
